Bayonets

For the Pattern 1914 Rifle and also fits the US Model 1917 Rifle.
This example was manufactured by Remington May1917.
In very nice condition for a 93 year old accoutrement and as can be seen from the photographs it carries a light patina of age and some minor denting to the wooden grips. The scabbard is sound and in good overall condition, the metal retains most of its original finish and carries no visible markings. 

 The classic bayonet for the SMLE.
This bayonet was made by Sanderson in August 1915, the blade is in very good condition with the quillon, tang and pommel retaining much of the original finish. Original grips complete with signs of wear commensurate with its age. The scabbard is also in very good condition and is stamped EFD ’17, the chape is stamped RE.
A fine honest example that would grace anyones collection.

For the Short Magazine Lee Enfield rifle.
This bayonet is a conversion from the Pattern 1888 and is dated March 1907.
Nice examples of this pattern are becoming harder to find. As can be seen from the photographs it carries interesting military markings, the pommel being stamped 1/5C, and the blade still shows the original VR stamp. It has a fine patina of age, there is some chipping to the edge of the wooden grips and the blade is in very nice condition. The scabbard is good overall and complete, it is stamped to The Leicestershire Regiment.

The blade is blued and the grips are bakelite, while the ricasso carries the manufacturer code, COF, which denotes Carl Eickhorn Waffen Farbik, Solingen, and the reverse carries the serial number 3817 J.
The side arm comes complete with a very nice leather frog with strap for mounted use.

A bayonet for the Indian Short Magazine Lee Enfield, manufactured by Rifle Factory Ishapore in August 1943.
The No.I MKII & No.I MKII* bayonets were special to India being manufactured new with an unfullered blade unlike earlier No.ç—´ & MKç—´, which were conversions of the earlier No.I MKI.
The No.I MkII* differs from the MKII in having a false edge to the blade point, the MKII having a conventional point.
Bayonet is in very good condition and appears unissued. The scabbard, a shortened black leather No.I complete with frog, also appear unissued but does show light rusting to the metalwork and two slight indentations to the chape.

A bayonet for the Model 1917 30.06 Rifle, manufactured by Remington, it is one of approximately 2 million made between 1917 and 1918.
It is complete with its U.S. M17 scabbard (C.N.Y.) and a leather frog (C.T.S.E.) to allow fitting to British web equipment.
The bayonet is in very good condition with crisp US ordnance markings, good blueing with minor rusting to the pommel.
Scabbard in very good condition with original green leather finish, minor dent in chape which has a light veneer of rust. Leather frog is missing the securing strap.

Called Rosalie by the French Poilu, this particular version was manufactured during The Great War using mostly brass handles.  The scabbard (forreau) was originally blued and the bayonet itself was left in the white.
This particular version was not made with a quillon, they were made this way as the quillon versions were prone to snagging on barbed wire and other obstructions in the confines of the trenches.
A nice example of this model in good original condition. The scabbard has two minor dents and has lost its blueing at some time in the past and carries a different serial no. to the bayonet which has some marks to the brass handles.
